I've never seen this abbreviated U2 version. Like it. I think my favorite part of the long version is when Mother Teresa is walking through a hallway and a woman comes up to her and says, "Nobody can replace you." And, without pause, Mother Teresa says, "Anybody can." Wow! Anybody can replace Mother Teresa. There was so much humility and grace and love and wisdom and truth exhibited in that brief moment...I will never forget it.

yeah… more and more people seem to be pointing me to that reality. It’s a semi-bitter pill to swallow. But, like most weekend messages (and all of life in general), God seems to use imperfect and broken things to bring about something glorious. (see Chad’s comment below).

Chad:
so true.
However, what I OUGHT to feel and think often differs greatly from how I ACTUALLY feel and think. I suppose this post had more to do with confession than anything else.

Let's say your message was perfect and delivery was the best you've ever witnessed come out of your mouth... at the end of that day you would say, "i had nothing to do with it God gets the glory." so why is it different when you feel it was horrible? you shouldn't give yourself a pat on the back nor should you bury yourself in pain... it's not yours to own whether it tanks or succeeds.

i still struggle with having too much ownership of the talk... prepare, yes. examine, yes. but trust God will answer your prayer when you say, "God use me in this talk."

I know you know that but it's something that needs to be said again.

salt was both essential and rare. it was used for food preservation, burial rites, and a host of other things, but it was rare enough to be used for currency. the word salary relates to the latin word for salt.
