I guess churches across America wear out their youth pastors every Easter. In talking with some of my friends, it sounds like every church asks a ton of their youth pastors during the Easter season. Sometimes they get asked to don a beard and call themselves a disciple. Others have to make announcements, direct traffic, or help corral the live sheep for the all-important “lamb of God” object-lesson that the senior pastor thought was critical (this is real… a church in San Diego actually had a sheep that baaah-ed all throughout the entire Good Friday service). For many of us, we’re not only gearing up for Easter, we’re thinking about our Spring break trips: skiing, camping, serving in Mexico, etc.

My pastor asked me to “make something funny, warm, that welcomes people to our church… We don’t care what it is, we just need it to be 3 minutes or less”.  So, I did what all youth pastors do when they panic — I made a video. All hail the Flight of the Conchords.

He is risen indeed!

  1. “Sure, you’re weedy and kind of shy.
But some girlie out there must be needy for a weedy, shy guy.”

You could almost USE TAPE OF LOVE NEXT AS IS!!

  3. I think an appearance by David Bowie from the set of the 1986 movie Labyrinth would have been an appropriate addition to this video.
